The events of the Shadow Moses incident from the first Metal Gear Solid game are followed here in this digital graphic novel. However, throughout it, even though many dialogues and scenes may be faithful to events from either Metal Gear Solid or Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, some may vary and divert from the source games, and some new sequences will be revealed that were left out of the original game and its remake. In addition, some talks and scenes may be true to events from either Metal Gear Solid or Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. This graphic novel features three different gameplay modes: the “VR simulation” mode, which follows the plot of the first Metal Gear Solid game; the “mental search” mode, which allows the player to stop the comic at any given time and explore the current scene in depth, only literally expanding it to 3D space, searching for memory elements tied to characters, items, and events; and the “memory building simulation” mode, which allows the player to connect gathered memory elements, reconstructing memories of tense moments from the original game.
