Coded Arms: Contagion is the second installment in the series and a direct sequel to the first game, Coded Arms. The player assumes the position of special agent Jacob Grant and logs into a virtual reality combat simulation software called A.I.D.A to stabilize the program and ensure that it can be used effectively. Humans were forced to put their lives in danger by digitizing their personalities to have a chance of hacking inside the system and bringing back the valuable data that enemies were guarding against the military program that was no longer in use. This was necessary because the simulation program had previously spread throughout Earth’s networks and run amok. Even though it can once more be contained, Jacob discovers through experimentation that the program is not yet stable. Coded Arms: Contagion is a first-person shooter, just like its predecessor, and it has more than a dozen unique weapons, each of which can be enhanced using additional components called plug-ins. It is also possible to hack into turrets and turn them against their owners by selecting the same number from two data lines. In total, there are thirteen quests to complete. Five additional maps are available for multiplayer mode, each accommodating up to eight players. Ad Hoc and Infrastructure modes are both supported.
