The action flight series debuted on the PSP with the launch of Skies of Deception, the first game. The player is in charge of the Gryphus Squadron, one of the few units still active for the nation of Aurelia and its lone airbase. Aurelia is located on the southeastern edge of the Ocean Continent. In 2020, the neighboring country of Leasath, led by Diego Gaspar Navarro, launched an assault on the nation of Aurelia. They attacked because it was believed that Aurelia was implicated in assisting their adversaries during the civil war. There are many different combat objectives to pick from and a wide selection of ships, each of which comes in a unique color scheme. Unlocking new components for their aircraft in the campaign mode, which features multiple ways to reach the end goal, is one of the many ways players can customize their plane. Profit can be made by eliminating foes and achieving specific goals inside the game. There are 17 missions, although the campaign mode can be completed in ten of the shortest periods possible. There is now a new multiplayer mode available, in which up to four players can participate in a single mission either in a collaborative setting (two players vs. two AI-controlled jets) or in a versus location, choosing from a variety of game modes, including dogfight-survival, dogfight-shoot out, base attack, air superiority, beacon battle, and escort mission.
