The following are included in Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection: It has upgraded graphics with a higher resolution, new soundtracks, computer-generated movies (from the DS remake of Final Fantasy IV and new ones for The After Years), and a gallery mode for viewing artworks and CG movies. This collection includes a version of The After Years with exclusive foes (one for each tale’s Challenge Dungeon) and a deluxe boss that appears after the game named Lost Babil. This boss is taken on in three separate battles, and to do it, the player needs to put together three groups of characters. In addition to that, it includes a new playable chapter called Final Fantasy IV – Interlude, which can be selected from the main menu and acts as a transition between the two episodes. This chapter takes place approximately one year after the events of the main plot.
