This is the next game in the Grand Theft Auto series, and it is set in Liberty City once again, just like GTA 3. This time, the story’s events took place in 1998, and you find yourself following in Toni Cipriani’s footsteps. As is customary for the series, you begin pretty low and work your way up in the food chain of the mafia by engaging in violent conflict with rival mafia families and engaging in various other types of nefarious activities. The game is set in the Grand Theft Auto universe, and as such, you will occasionally run into characters you have encountered in earlier installments of the series. Despite this, the game’s narrative is relatively self-contained and only makes a limited number of references to previous occurrences and events. You can play mini-games as a pizza delivery boy, vigilante, cab driver, and more, just as in the previous games. All the other well-known elements from the earlier games are included. The PSP version is capable of supporting multiplayer contests. The Deathmatches, King of the Hill, and Capture the Flag competitions are open to as many as six criminals each.
