When Prince Laharl awakens, he discovers that his father, King Krichevskoy, has been assassinated and that his reign has been usurped. Now, for the prince to regain control of the Underworld, he will need to fight his way through a mystical region inhabited by many demons. Afternoon of Darkness is an improved version of the PlayStation 2 game Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. The game is played in an isometric, turn-based format comparable to Final Fantasy Tactics. It includes new optional bosses and the chance to play an alternate tale campaign as Etna, in which she would have been victorious in her attempt to kill Prince Laharl. Makai Senki Disgaea: Tshin Taisen Hajimemashita is the name of a new multiplayer mode that has been included in both the original release in the United States and the re-release in Japan. In addition to containing all of the content included in the PSP edition, the PC port of the game features new graphics (just the backgrounds, not the character sprites), an updated user interface, and Steam achievements.
