The player takes control of Saphira, Eragon’s dragon companion and friend, in the video game Eragon, based on the movie of the same name and Christopher Paolini’s book Eragon. Saphira’s mission in the game is to assist Eragon through nine different levels, during which the player will be required to kill enemies, protect allies, race through narrow corridors, and clear pathways. Saphira is capable of attacking, braking, reversing course, and using boost to travel great distances. Her nails are her primary weapon, and they can be utilized to snag foes or larger objects to serve as a springboard for attacking everything on the ground below. A variety of offensive and defensive spells are also available to choose from. Consuming meat from animals is vital to one’s health. The single-player campaign must be completed to access any of the game’s six arena stages. You can fight against as many as three bots or human players in these multiplayer arenas, and there are 12 distinct game modes to choose from. The game for the PlayStation Portable (PSP) is an entirely different experience from the versions available on other platforms. The PSP version focuses solely on Saphira, the dragon, while the others feature Eragon more prominently.
