You take control of not one but two heroes in this latest episode of the long-running Legend of Heroes series. The protagonists are Estelle Bright, whose father was the legendary explorer Cassius, and her adoptive brother Joshua, who came to live with them after being brought to their home under unexplained circumstances. The family is a member of an adventuring guild known as the “bracers,” which protects the town’s citizens in exchange for payment for various difficult jobs. When Cassius moves to a new location, Estelle and Joshua are left in charge of the bracers and are tasked with completing multiple positions. Before long, they find themselves in the heart of a nefarious plot! This is a role-playing game (RPG) in the style of Japanese consoles, but it was launched on a personal computer. You can move members of your party around the screen during combat and conduct a variety of actions, such as so-called “Arts” (which are special attacks) and “Crafts” (which are analogous to limit breakers in Final Fantasy games). There are also several story-related and optional bracer tasks to complete, and completing these will help you advance in the ranks of your profession.
