TalkMan

TalkMan is a translation tool supporting six different tongues: German, English, French, Italian, and Spanish. Japanese is also supported. It gives the user the ability to select the topic at hand. If he uses the microphone that is provided, he can utter a statement in his native language that is connected to the case, and the tool will translate it, complete with voice rendering. In addition, he can select one of several predetermined phrases and other capabilities, such as a unit converter and an alarm clock. But in addition to that, there is a “game mode” in TalkMan, which includes two mini-games. As could be assumed, these seek to enhance the player’s hearing and speaking capacity. In the listening game, the tool’s mascot, a bluebird named Max, will pronounce one sentence in all languages (except the player’s native language), and the player’s job will be to determine what the phrase means by selecting one of the four available responses. In the second game, Max will read a word in a foreign language while simultaneously translating the term into the player’s mother tongue. The player must repeat it, and the game awards points according to how strongly he emphasizes each word. The two games each have a total of 25 challenging levels.
