Another annual update to the FIFA Soccer franchise, FIFA Soccer 08, is the fourth installment to be released for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). It improves upon the version released the year before by adding new leagues and teams, updated rosters, and new gameplay modes while keeping all the already present elements. The lineup of teams is the same as seen on other platforms, with the addition of leagues from Australia, the Czech Republic, and Ireland, bringing the total number of national institutions to 30, along with 20 clubs from the rest of the world and 43 international teams. The minigames Juggling and Wall Attack and the game types Friendlies, Manager Mode, Tournaments, Wi-Fi Multiplayer, and Challenges (which have been upgraded for the new season) are all returning. In the Manager mode, friendly matches can now be played throughout the off-season. The Interactive Leagues feature is debuting on the PSP in this game. It was initially made available in the console version from the previous year. It allows gamers to compete in matches of their preferred club against other players according to the timetable of actual games. Another one of the brand-new features is the capability to generate individualized formations. An utterly new option has been added, and it’s called Football IQ. It’s a trivia contest. It consists of trivia questions, each accompanied by a diagram of the relevant field. If you answer the questions correctly, the ball will go forward in the area and finally end up in the goal. On the other hand, if you answer them incorrectly, the ball will move backward, and the opposing team will be able to score. The quiz is divided into multiple stages, with the first level focusing on questions concerning local clubs, and the following groups include topics from other leagues.
